Its many features include a true sine wave inverter, adaptive charging, hybrid PowerAssist technology, plus multiple system integration features. The unique power assist allows for safe charging using generators, shore power, or other power sources and the uninterrupted energy supply (UPS) function means no downtime in the case of power disruption (it seamlessly transitions to battery power). The VICTRON ENERGY BMV 712 SMART BATTERY MONITOR WITH BLUETOOTH allows you to turn any electrical system into a smart system, with live, real time data relayed to your mobile phone or laptop via the Victron app. Want to estimate how much run time you have left for your trolling motor? Want to know if your starter battery has enough juice to get your van or RV going in the morning? Or want to estimate how much longer you can spend off grid, boondocking? The Victron BMV Smart Battery Monitor is a powerful battery monitor with Bluetooth on board for remote monitoring, and an easy to use screen for manual data. Instruction manual available here.

The VICTRON SMARTSOLAR MPPT 75/15 SOLAR CHARGE CONTROLLER is recommended for charging batteries with solar energy. When using solar on your boat, yacht, van or RV you will need a charging device which converts the energy which your panels are producing to a stable charging voltage and current that your batteries can easily accept. A solar controller will increase the efficiency of your panels, increasing the amount of energy available for your use. The Smart Solar series from Victron also includes Bluetooth smart monitoring, or with the GX series of monitoring equipment, a user can set charging parameter and battery type (choose the lithium setting for DL battereies), and monitor and record solar yields. We’re a fan of this charge controller because of it’s professional grade performance and the easy to use bluetooth phone app. Datasheet available here. A solar charge controller is recommended for any solar energy system with 100 watts of solar panels or more. This charge controller supports up to 200 watts of solar panels. If adding more than 200 watts of solar add additional charge controllers or install a controller rated at a higher amp rating.

The VICTRON DIGITAL MULTI CONTROL 200/200A CONTROL PANEL FOR MULTIPLUS is used to remotely view and adjust AC input currents, and turn on and off the Multiplus. It is designed to integrate cleanly with your boat, vehicle or house system control panel. This is a recommended add on for the Multiplus, since it allows you to install the Multiplus out of sight, and use this control panel to manage the settings of your Multiplus inverter and charger. Think of this as the easy to use dashboard for your system.

SOLAR POWER ADD-ON. If desired you can add-on Zamp Solar rooftop kits. The 170 watt Zamp Solar rooftop kit offers enough power to charge one DL 200Ah battery. Add up to two 170 watt Zamp solar extension packs for a total of 510 watts of solar – enough to power 600Ah of  batteries.

CHARGE VIA YOUR ENGINE’S ALTERNATOR ADD ON. If you are planning to charge your batteries via your engine’s alternator we recommend adding a VICTRON ORION-TR SMART 12/12-18A ISOLATED DC-DC CHARGER. This will ensure your engine’s alternator charges the battery at the lithium preferred voltage.
